| Introduction | I am a happily single woman, and I am unhappily childless. After over a decade of marriage, I’m on my own again. I feel so free and empowered. My biological clock started sounding the alarms. There is no man on the horizon. Even if there were, I might not want to give up my new-found independence. Several good friends and a loving family live near me. I’m ready to take the leap into motherhood but I’m not ready to commit to a man. Rumor has it that babies are more work than anything I’ve undertaken in the past, and I believe it. I also think it will be worth it. I’m ready to get pregnant on my own and raise a child on my own. |

If you could peer far enough into the night sky, you'd see a star in any direction you looked. When would you sleep?
I'd become more attuned to my body and sleep as I need it.
