IntroductionFrankly, I try not to make "me" my favorite thing to write about, however, I do like to talk about how I've changed the last 20 years of my life. I use to be so miserable, that is... unless it was right after one of my long runs. Then one day on a flight back from Hawaii, a friend there convinced me to give my life to Jesus. Wasn't sure what that meant exactly, but I pulled out this little Bible he gave me and read a few verses and inwardly said, "okay Jesus, come into my life." My life hasn't been the same since and there have been some tough struggles, but it's weird because through every struggle there's always been peace. I'm finding out more and more each day that this life isn't about me, but it's about what God is doing through me. Whether I'm on my bike, or catching a moment of life through my lens...it all about Jesus and when it's not about Jesus, well, I feel miserable...again.
InterestsPhotography, writing, biking, hiking, alternative cooking (taking run-of-the-mill recipes and making them healthy), spending time with my husband and family (especially visiting our son and his new wife, Amber, in Flagstaff), but most importantly, I love spending time with the Lord, cool thing is I can take Him everywhere with me.
Favorite movies"...if you look for the good in people, you will surely find it." That was a quote from President Lincoln written on the pendant of Hayley Mills as she played the contagious role of Pollyanna, my favorite movie. When I moved to Napa, it was really hard to adjust to the area, I still struggle sometimes. When a long bike ride doesn't work, or I just want to kind of have a pseudo "pity-party", I pop Pollyanna on and inject the frills of yesteryear into my day.
Favorite musicLately I've been listening to Roby Duke a lot because he, but more especially, his family have been on my mind. Roby's smooth voice and soft strumming on the guitar are very comforting and I enjoy his style.
Favorite booksWhen I was in high school, I loved Sinclair Lewis, Rod McKuen, and Carol Joyce Oates, but now it's the Bible and anything that is relevant to the Bible.
