| Introduction | I'm Catherine. I've been a ballet dancer almost my whole life. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I moved to The States to finish my degree in dance at the University of Alabama. My dance credits include the Montgomery Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Arova Contemporary Ballet and now I dance with Sanspointe Dance Company. Currently, I am also working on my Masters in public health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and I am applying to dental school this summer. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 23, and I continued dancing all the way through. I kept going. I now continue the journey balancing type 1 diabetes, dance, school, and life with some laughs along the way. I'm pumping Novolog with a pink Animas One Touch Ping. I've been at that since December 2011 and I've been using a Dexcom since September 2011. I've named them Marsha and Trixie respectively. Remember I am but a simple dancer and hopefully future dentist, so while I may offer suggestions and support, I can't diagnose, or treat you. Your diabetes may vary! |
