| Introduction | My name is Christina Cook and I'm happily married to my husband Randy. Celebrating 6 years of marriage! I'm currently Mrs. Victoria International 2012 and I will be competing in April for the title of Mrs. Texas International! With the title of Mrs. Texas I hope to inspire others with my platform, Learning Disabilities: Making the Connection. As someone who has ADD and Dyslexia it's important to me that I share my story and advocate on behalf of those who do not have the self-esteem to speak up. I used to be that person. I had lots of dreams and visions of seeing myself as a successful business woman and as a person in general. I wanted to be a cheerleader, a business owner, and help others. I knew that if I didn't find the courage then to step out of my shell that I may never achieve my dreams and visions. Through hard work and determination I achieved each and every one. Join me as I take a lead to bring awareness of the importance in making the connection in children with learning disabilities and the positive effects of early intervention. 75% of children who receive help after the 3rd grade will continue to struggle with reading throughout their life! |
