Introduction	I am carrying out a One Name Study of the surname HUDGELL with many variations including HUDGILL, HUDGEL, HUDGLE plus many more. My website is at www.hudgill.com I first began researching my family tree about 20 years ago when a lady called Betty Birtwhistle sent my dad a list of names with our family name of HUDGILL on it. This gave me a thirst to find out where my roots were as my dad knew very little about his family. Sadly Betty died about 10 years ago but she had done a marvellous job of collecting the information from parish registers and record offices before the age of the internet and computers getting our line back to 1550 to the name of HUDSWELL in Sawbridgeworth but I then took on the challenge of the one name study I am interested in all occurrences of the surname globally and would love to hear from anyone else with links to the name no matter where you live. My aim is to be a resource for others interested in their roots and would like to add their branch to our already quite large tree. I am a member of the Guild of One-Name Studies where I have registered HUDGELL as my study. Now new to bloggs I thought 'Lets have a try'
