Location	Capel Curig, North Wales
Introduction	I began climbing when I was around 14 years old. Armed with a copy of “Guernsey Scrambles and Sea Level Traverses” I explored the esoteric and occasionally unstable back-waters of the islands south coast. With this obscure apprenticeship in ‘mountaineering’ I shifted my attention to winter climbing - not an obvious choice for someone growing up in the Channel Islands - and this has been my passion ever since. In 2010 I had an opportunity to move to Switzerland. Living in the Alps provided me with time to improve my skiing and begin ski-touring. The appeal of travelling long distances across the mountains also led to training for and competing in my first ultra distance trail race. More recently I have moved back to the UK and am now living in Llanberis, North Wales where I starting a PhD in cancer research.
