| Introduction | Sarah Marusek is a social science doctoral candidate at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. Her current research focuses on the charitable practices of Shi’i communities in Lebanon. She holds a masters degree from the Graduate Program in International Affairs (GPIA) at The New School in New York City, where her concentration was socioeconomic development. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in arts and publishing in London and New York. She received her bachelors degree in literature and art history from Goldsmiths, University of London. |
