| Introduction | I was born within sight of the sea - if you stood on the roof - and from then until I left home at 18 I was never more than a stone's throw from the tideline. Today, I'm landlocked when in Abode Major but within 400 yards of the shore when residing in Abode Minor or when visiting my Seaside Factory. I'm very happily married - not sure if that's on-trend these days, but it suits me down to the ground - and have a collection of offspring of assorted genders and ages. The eldest is back from University north of the Border ( I think they're called boomerangs!), the middle one is up at University in Scouse-ville and the youngest is at Middlemarch School for Girls. I work - yes, very sad isn't it but one has to earn a crust - throughout the world in a global role which has me most frequently in Scandinavia and regularly throughout Europe and the Americas - yes both of them. Yet wherever I travel I long to be amongst the islands off the west coast of Scotland. |
