| Introduction | This blog is about what many people are calling "the opportunity of a lifetime". I disagree. It is simply an event which has captured my heart and my curiosity which demanded that an up-close and personal examination is necessary. That examination means in order for me to be able to see how "The Last Great Race on Earth", more popularly known as the Iditarod Dog Sled Race happens. I would like to share with you the steps I have taken to be a very, very small part of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race when a field of 62 mushers along with their trusty huskies depart on March 6, 2011, from Wasilla, Alaska and traveling 1,049 miles across the Alaskan wilderness until the first musher arrives under the Burled Arch in Nome, Alaska on or about March 15, 2011, where I will be there to welcome them. |
