Introduction | I enjoy designing ceramic art that is a reflection of nature in a somewhat sculptural, functional piece. I handbuild each piece with great attention to detail. Although I was first introduced to ceramics about 20 years ago, I have been developing my own ceramic art for over 10 years - learning, growing, and creating new designs and techniques. One of my favorite firing methods is raku due to the fascinating color variances that can be achieved with the copper-based glazes on my leaf designs. I love the way they can resemble the red-green shades of a new spring leaf or the golden plum & fiery shades of fall. The crackle effect also adds depth, softness, and the feeling of time -a feeling of a place somewhere within eternity. |
