| Introduction | I live in Leigh in Worcestershire where I've lived with my family since 1995. I was delighted to be elected as a County Councillor for Malvern Trinity Division in June 2009 representing residents views. I've been privileged to enjoy working with many businesses across the West Midlands region in my capacity as Regional Director of the CBI 1995-2000. I became Chief Executive of the Heart of England Tourist Board in 2001. During this time I was a Non Executive Director of Aga Foodservice Group plc (now known as Aga Rangemaster plc). I was then appointed as MD of Fired Earth a subsidiary business in 2003 and worked with the Group in various roles until 2008. My consultancy Beverley Nielsen Communications has worked with Aga Rangemaster plc and more recently with Pashley Cycles ltd and Connemara Abalone Teo an Irish aquaculture business based in the West of Ireland. It was an honour to be made Midlands Business Woman of the Year in 1998 and receive an Honorary MA from Coventry University in 1999. |
| Interests | As your elected Councillor for Malvern Trinity I am interested to hear your views and represent them to ensure your voice is heard. As a businesswoman I will work to deliver the best chances for sustainable wealth creation and responsible competitiveness. As a university employee currently based at the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design(BIAD)at Birmingham City University where I am a Course Supervisor for the MA Design Management, as well as an Associate Fellow at the Warwick Manufacturing Group, The University of Warwick, I am interested in how good design, in particular design focussed on the needs of users, can deliver added value for both business and our economy. I am a member of the RNLI Council and work to support the fundraising and communications activities of the RNLI. I am a Board Member of the Malvern Hills Conservators. I am also a governor of Northleigh Primary School, St Peter's Road, Malvern. I enjoy acting, singing and cycling! |
