| Introduction | This blog is designed to share and enhance the learning that takes place in room 19 at Papatoetoe South School. Room 19 is unique for a number of reasons. We are in a team teaching situation, wherein 60 children are taught by 2 teachers. Accordingly, we have a larger teaching space and the resources that go with it. In room 19 we aim to create a vibrant and modern learning environment for the 21st century. In our room we have 2 interactive SMART boards, 12 state of the art desktops and 12 laptops. An increasing number of the children in the class are 'Ekids', and they do all their work with the exception of maths on a laptop. Over a short period of time these children have become very proficient in their use of the technology and have been able to scaffold each other in their learning. We plan to adapt and implement new technologies into room 19 when and where we feel they will be of benefit.
