Introduction	Pic above from 1974. I volunteered for the Army NG "Pathfinder" airborne program in order to learn how to blow up the munitions train running from the depot in Texarkana to the AFB in San Antonio, from whence the bombs were then airlifted to the dying puppet regime in Saigon. My plans got shifted a bit while I was in basic training at Ft.Polk. The command charged me with "inciting to mutiny". Then, in a one on one interview in his office, my Captain threatened threatened to plant heroin in my locker and send me to Leavenworth for 20 years unless I agreed to leave the Army. So I demanded and received an honorable discharge. Next I returned to the University in Austin and lead a campaign in a referendum of the student body, 30,000 strong, that we should invite a revolutionary professor from Vietnam to teach us the history of his (or her) country. In March we voted to pass this proposal, which had been introduced by a returned veteran who was the student President, by a margin of two to one. A few weeks later the Vietnamese People's Army led politically by Pham Van Dong launched their great Spring Offensive and quickly liberated the South from the Pentagon's running dogs.
