Introduction I am 43, nearly 44 and about to be a dad for the first time and live in Tottenham. I am a Labour Party and Trade union activist and local union branch official in UNISON in Islington. My interests include: Cats: including Sphynx cats like Ripley who lives in a bookshop in San Francisco and gets a very high profile on my blog, she is gorgeous, Furry Critters, Marxist politics, obscure lefty document hunting , On the up side...the fabulous TV series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis are my interests as well. Well, I am a socialist and a member of the Labour Party. There's a contradiction in terms. Politically, I nearly joined the Militant Tendency in 1979, and was once in the IMG--International Marxist Group--and would defend a lot of what the IMG did for a long time--then its follow-up groups, the Socialist League (who published Socialist Action), the International Socialist Group (ISG-publishers of Socialist Outlook). I left them in 1991 and became politically aligned to a mainly French group called the Lambertists, after Gauloise smoking leader Pierre Lambert, where I met the infamous Micky H, who was quite clearly also a member!
