| Introduction | I'm an octongenarian enigma wrapped up inside a conundrum. That means I'm still examining the subject. It keeps me from applying any labels to myself. It also means that I grew up in a time period when "under God" was not part of the Pledge of Allegiance; when "In God We Trust" was not stamped on our paper currency, nor was it our national motto; and when the myth claiming that all, or most all presidents since George Washington concluded their presidential oath with "so help me God" had not even been conceived. |
