Introduction	Shari (Zissie) Gitel came on Aliyah from the USA in 1986 with her husband, Sanford, and three daughters. Her parents followed in her footsteps in 1988, and her mother-in-law arrived shortly afterwards. In 2000, upon retirement from Jerusalem College of Technology, where she served as Assistant to the President, she began volunteering in the Public Relations Department at Yad Sarah where she continues to contribute to the English website. After living 18 years in Jerusalem, she moved to Netanya to be closer to her parents, children and grandchildren. She has a wealth of experience in dealing with many bureaucratic matters concerning services for the elderly and disabled.
