| Introduction | I was born on Sunday 12th August, 1945 the oldest son to Michael and Maude Chambers of Rossyvera Newport Co. Mayo, Eire. I am the oldest of 10 sons 8 of which are still alive. I have 6 sisters and 5 still live. I never went any further than primary school. I love and played Gaelic football both here and in England. I am a campaigner and activist for improved access in Mayo. I work with local authorities and private companies improving their disability access. At the moment I am working with a group of people at Knock International Airport carrying out an Audit of the airport. In 2006 I completed a four week extensive course on access and auditing run by the Univercity of Ulster in Boyne Valley Hotel in Drogheda. I arrived home from hospital in Dublin on the 5th December 1981, following a bad accident on the last Satuarday of March 1981. The town of Newport was very inaccessible for wheelchair users such as myself. That was then and despite promises from the local Representative it is sad to report that worse the town has got. |

Your people want to make a statue in your honor. What will it be made out of and what victory will it commemorate?
" How long are you in that thing" pointing to my wheelchair.
