Introduction I want life to be simple, straight-up, like an oak in an open field, taking the weather as it comes, its roots running deep into the ground. And for all its stateliness, we can lie beneath its shade or shinny up a bit and climb its raised limbs. And so, we can hang from them upside down and laugh while we see the day a bit differently, or we can nestle against its firmness, knowing something outlasts last year's trouble. I am learning what it means to breathe in Imago Dei - to grow in definition as God's creation as a woman. I was raised in the Christian-evangelical tradition; I enjoy learning about Orthodox Christianity; I love language and history and the narrative of people's lives, because there is such distinction in them. I love knowing that God so loved us that He became the Incarnate One, to show us what it means to live as He always has intended - in relationship with Him ... and each other. And when there's disparity between the Truth and our own sin, I rest in His grace which knows no limits in Christ Jesus. Won't you join me in this messy, holy celebration?
