| Introduction | My name is Julia Miller I'm a junior studying English/Journalism at the University of New Hampshire. In high school I was the editor of my school newspaper. During that time I studied Journalism and participated in an Independent Study of Advanced Journalism. During my freshmen year at UNH, I was a contributing writer for The New Hampshire and then was hired as a staff writer. During the summer of 2010 I interned at TeenVOGUE New York City. Following TeenVOGUE, I returned to school and TNH as a staff writer, where I covered Student Senate. During the spring I temporarily forfeited my writing position at TNH to study Integral Sustainability in India. Whilst overseas, I obtained a journalism internship covering issues on waste. Upon my return, I was disturbed by the state of the nation and by the social and environmental injustices taking place globally so I decided to try my hand in politics. Most recently, I interned with Carol Shea Porter for Congress. Today, I am reporting news and writing a column for TNH. I also blog for the Sustainability Academy. In the near future, I have plans to do journalistic research on the Dutch concern for climate change in the Netherlands. |
