IntroductionAbout Me My name is Raymond Pownall. I hail from Denver, Colorado. I find myself being happiest when out amongst our world’s diverse and rich cultures and languages whenever possible. I am interested in what, why, and how people are thinking, saying, and doing everything. Additionally, I gather information, mostly for my own edification, from reading periodicals, books, and sometimes news stories on a vast array of subjects from technology, global real estate trends, the movement of people, to global fashion design for men and women. All of this combined leads me to ponder how they affect my interaction with the world around me. From this information, I sometimes disperse vignettes of thought, in hopefully compelling ways, to those that I mentor, work with, and anyone else that I meet that has time to discuss the exciting interconnectivity of our diverse world.

Favorite moviesSix Degrees of Separation (Will Smith was impressive in this and has followed up with some impressive work since). PI, Fight Club (no movie better depicts the displaced state of this age group of males), The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and Unforgiven (two movies that have an interesting relationship to each other from the standpoint of Clint Eastwood's career and how they both speak to the nature of man). From there, Toy Story, Monster's Inc. and The Incredibles are a testament to fun story lines paired with amazing animation.
Favorite musicIt depends on the day and the weather, but in general, I like Delta Blues and all the music that has grown out of that genre. Additionally I like punk rock (especially The Ramones, the Sex Pistols, and the Clash). I like speed metal; Pantera and Metallica. From there it is a free-for-all from Spanish Guitar to Jazz.
Favorite booksWalden from Henry David Thoreau, anything from Emerson, Steinbeck, Gilbert, Mankiw (regarding Economics), and Sayre (regarding art).
