| Introduction | I am currently a junior at the University of Southern California, pursuing a major in political science and a minor in marketing. The organization and mindset of our government has always interested me; I believe that the study of current events, combined with an analysis of the past, is essential for today’s youth to be able to understand and influence the world in which we live. Further, I hope to analyze the role that the media plays in influencing important public issues and swaying social reform. In the future, I hope to pursue a career that studies this dynamic and challenges its influence on the rest of the world. My goal in writing is simply to begin this venture; I realize that one voice among the masses can inspire change, and I wish to increase the awareness of the general public in seemingly simplistic current affairs. |
