| Favorite movies | Wisdom MDZUNGAIRI is an award-winning Zimbabwean journalist. He is currently Assistant Editor of NewsDay, Zimbabwe’s only privately-owned daily newspaper, and was formerly environment editor as well as news editor at The Herald, Zimbabwe’s oldest daily newspaper. He also worked for the Zimbabwean Travel, which specializes in travel news, as well as two other national titles, The Sunday Mail and Chronicle. Wisdom was awarded the Silver Jubilee Tourism Media First Achiever (Gold) Award as well as Silver Jubilee Tourism Media Merit National Award for his outstanding contribution in the development of tourism in Zimbabwe, SADC and Africa since 1980. The awards recognized his coverage of environmental, agricultural, mining as well as general news issues. He remains the only journalist to be bestowed such an honour. He holds qualifications in Media Studies, Communications and Journalism and in international journalism, and has attended numerous international training courses on the environmental, tourism, climate change, politics; business leadership and marketing. He has served as a member of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority National CITES Taskforce Committee since 2001. He also serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the African Network of Environmental Journalists (ANEJ); AU Network of African Journalists for Peace and Security Architecture (Netpeace) executive; Media for Environment and Agriculture Development (MEAD) and Zimbabwe Institute of Management member among other professional organisations. |
