| Introduction | Born in Bristol. Was once a teacher (of mathematics). Promoted Jazz in the school hall on Sunday afternoons (Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes, Monty Sunshine, Bill LeSage, Mark Murphy and so on). Co-founded Midland Sinfonia orchestra which morphed into English Sinfonia. Was the first Director of Merseyside Arts Association. Co-founded a publishing company. Wrote and published memoirs 'Not Heavy Enough To Win A Prize?' and 3 books on arts marketing. Lectured on this subject around the world. Wrote a stage play 'The Compromise' (staged in March 2005). Has written many so-so poems and one fantastic song, 'Testosterone Tango'. Retired in 2007. |
