| Introduction | Jim Womack is an information systems engineer, civics instructor, and board member for several Christian missions. Womack is a 1977 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He has Masters Degrees in Business Management and in Operations, Plans and Training. Womack served as an Armored Cavalry Officer, commanding organizations of up to 600 soldiers in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. From 1986-1989, he served as an Army senior intelligence officer at the Pentagon. During the period 1990-1991, He led the 1st Cavalry Division’s Headquarters Command in Operations Desert Shield / Desert Storm, for which he received the Bronze Star Medal. Womack formerly served in the position of Director for North Carolina’s Public Health Information Systems. He left state employment in early 2001 and joined a private sector software and services company to extend his training and experience as a Senior Manager, Regional Sales Executive, and later as a National Director for Enterprise Health Information Systems. In addition to managing a large business unit in the Carolinas, he was the chief architect for North Carolina's $25M public health information system. |
