| Introduction | My love for sewing began as a 6 year old when I received a miniature Singer sewing machine in a red plaid case. I began immediately to make outfits for my doll, hand cranking every stitch with happiness. One of my favorite memories is gazing at the Singer pedal sewing machine in the bedroom where I slept on visits to my Grandparents' home as a very young girl. I loved just looking it at, studying the machine, the pedal, and the drawers of the cabinet. It was extra-special because it was the machine that my Grandmother sewed on. The quilts that I slept under during those years were constructed by Grandma on that machine. My love for quilting, I'm sure, had it's beginnings way back then. Over the years, I realized that hand sewing was my passion, whether it was in the form of a quilt or, in more recent years, teddy bears. The one thing I know for sure...I MUST be sewing something!
