Introduction	I originally got into graphic design completely out of necessity. Instead of going to school to learn graphic design, I learned Graphic Design by doing it, by gaining hands-on experience and by learning from others who had spent a lifetime in the profession. When I was in college I fulfilled the role of Event Planner on the Student Programming Board. I eventually served as their Vice President of Marketing. Throughout my tenure with the Programming Board we employed the services of several graphic designers who, more often than not, missed scheduled deadlines and ignored the themes we were using to promote the event, preferring to deliver a design of their own theme in their own time frame. Increasingly, I felt compelled to learn how to use the design software myself to make necessary changes as well as complete projects in order to achieve the results we had originally intended.
