| Introduction | Rebel's Kitchen grew out of a youth spent in the kitchens of aunts. I know why wooden spoons are important. I can appreciate the chemistry of sugar. And I can pull a window pane that will bring a tear. Starting Rebel's Kitchen by baking for a weekly Farmer's Market has been a labor of love, a labor in which an epidural is seemingly absent and my birthing coach went for a latte. A labor that started with a pile of black sesame seeds and some pandan essence and a google search. My goal for Rebel's Kitchen is for it to be an actual shop...attached to a small hotel that I also run...in a beach town...with a small collection of classic cars to loan to guests. A business that would function as the place you long to visit, a place that will remember you like almond milk in your Costa Rican coffee and that you prefer a press over drip. |
| Interests | I am a baker who prefers to combine unique flavors or unusual ingredients. Often, I own the spice before I know what to do with it. I am a retired roller derby skater. I am a lazy writer unless I am fact-checking something. Then, I am an obnoxious educator. And that's why I bake. |
