| Introduction | Brylee needed to come to us at 31 weeks due to fluid on both kidneys and very low amniotic fluid. He was born on December 16, 2010, at 8:50 am at Fayette County Piedmont Hospital. Length, 17 inches; weight, 4 pounds, 11 ounces. He was transposted to Egleston Childrens hospital that same day. Brylee faces kidney failure, respiratory issues and Down ’s syndrome. He struggled in the NICU for 4 months over coming 4 surgeries and pneumonia showing us all his persistence and drive to survive. On April 18 we were finally discharged from the hospital. Brylee has since been back to Egleston to have a g-tube placed. This gives him a direct line to his stomach for feeding purposes. We have come so far but we also know that there are rough roads ahead. Our strength has come from our family, friends, and even the strangers that have stopped to write to us or prayer for us and think of us. |
