Introduction Currently I am a student at the University of Waterloo studying International Development in the faculty of Environment. Because of my fiendish behaviour towards snow, and my affinity for strapping a board on my feet and letting gravity guide me down steep pitches, i always believed I would find my way out West for a university experience with as much school work as snowboarding. I ended up at Waterloo, however, because of the unique International Development program that specializes in sustainability. This program will also take me to Vietnam in September for an internship with a small environmental NGO. If a university program can deter me from winters spent in the Rockies, i must be here for a reason!
Interests I am a strong believer in the power of the natural world. As a wilderness canoe guide by summer, and avid snowboarder by winter, I have learnt the most about myself and the authentic person I strive to be from living in the outdoors amongst beauty in its most natural and primitive state. Thus comes my passion for the environment. To see people attacking, destroying and depleting the earth's raw beauty and purpose is devastating. I wish the people of the world to connect with each other and our planet from a place of honesty and integrity in order to save one other and our home. I strive never to be idle in my mission to explore the world spreading the word of living harmoniously with nature and making our world a livable place for generations to come. These are merely my opinions and not a reflection of my school and organization that I will be working with.
