| Introduction | I'm a 32-year-old, third-year PhD student, and as such, am perpetually on the brink of having a nervous breakdown. To make sure I don't eventually find myself curled up in the fetal position, rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere, I am taking active steps to maintain an identity outside academics and to routinely blow off steam.
