| Introduction | In the Grimm's fairytale, Allerleirah (All-Kinds-Of-Fur) was a girl who escaped an undesirable marriage by working in a kitchen in a cloak of furs to hide her beauty. There are many tales about women who maintained their purity by covering themselves in hair. I've always found that interesting. Especially since, over the past two decades, I have struggled with Idiopathic Hirsutism. Also, I do work part of the day in a kitchen and once escaped an undesirable marriage to a prince. ;) I've seen the articles, I've wandered the forums, I've consulted doctors and laser technicians and become intimate with more disposable razors than you could shake a stick at. I've always been the sort to prefer handling uncomfortable situations with a certain amount of light-heartedness, and so I began a blog to help work through my challenges, hopefully support the estimated 10% of women who are also going through this, and humanize a rather quirky cosmetic disorder. |
