| Introduction | My name is Kaitlin. I'm 22. I'm a vegetarian and an animal lover. I appreciate good music, movies and food. I believe that diversity is freedom. I live in a small southern town where nearly everyone is the same. There is very little tolerance for differences in religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and culture. It's an extremely bland place. However, as I look beyond the scope of this little town, and the norms of society, I'm learning more and more to celebrate the unique people, places and experiences life has to offer. Whether one exists within or outside of a label or group, we all share the ability to love and peacefully co-exist with one another. I also believe that generosity is power. Giving back to those in need and helping people who are suffering from poverty, disease and homelessness are agendas that forever resonate with meaning, and as a society, we should work towards these causes more often instead of living solely for ourselves. |
