| Introduction | You know that Journey lyric, "Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world"? Yeah, that was me. Feeling trapped and misunderstood and fighting desperately not to get sucked into the black hole of addiction, depression, and general small-mindedness that plagued my tiny hometown. Somehow (and I still struggle to credit myself for this, but that's for my therapist and me to discuss) I managed to get out, move to NYC, build a career in real estate and finance, and find an amazing man to share it all with. We relocated to SF with the idea that we needed to slow down, be *gasp* responsible, and start a family. You know, picket fences and all that crap. Instead, thanks to two years of infertility, we have an apartment that's too big, an SUV that's never seen a car seat, and a serious case of boredom. That'll learn me not to count my chickens! ;) |
