| Introduction | Lepta Organization is a registered community based organization operating in Mathare Valley in Nairobi, Kenya. Lepta is based on the belief that though Mathare is currently one of the well known slums for its poor living conditions and high levels of crime there exist great potential in the people of Mathare and this potential can be tapped to bring about radical transformation in Mathare. We have set out to create opportunities to exploit this potential while pushing back boundaries that have limited Mathare. We have been in operation since January 2006. Lepta is governed by faith based principles and it is currently run by a team of seven who all have roots in Mathare. |
