OccupationGeneral Practitioner
LocationBirmingham, United Kingdom
IntroductionI am a part-time GP in Birmingham. For the past three years I have had the privilege of leading the Royal College of General Practitioners through the Darzi era and continue to promote high-quality general practice to anyone that will listen! I believe that we have a tremendous opportunity to lead the NHS through GP Commissioning. I am an eternal optimist and believe that there is an enormous opportunity for us to build an even more effective NHS despite the financial crisis that is upon us.
InterestsHaving been born and brought up in the Black Country, I have the Baggies encoded in my DNA! This is a good season - we have a good team and perhaps we can stay up instead of bouncing up and down each year - Boing Boing!!
Favorite musicI am currently listening to some Jazz Sax - Jan Garbarek - with Keith Jarrett - Belonging is playing as I write this blog.
Favorite booksI am currently reading Roy Hattersley's Edwardians - a wonderful read
