| Introduction | I was born in Baird, TX. My family moved to Fort Worth in 1943. I graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1954 and Texas Christian University in 1958. I spent two years in the Army. In 1960 I met and married Dorothy Sullivan. We had two children, James and Denise. After the army, I taught Drama at Irvin High School in El Paso for six years then spent a year at North Texas State earning a Masters Degree. In 1967 my family moved to Bolivar, MO. I taught Theatre at SW Baptist University for 30 years. I began writing Christian plays in the 70s to be performed at SBU. In 1982, I worked with a group of SBU students to found a Christian theatre in Springfield. After I retired from SBU, my wife and I moved to Springfield. In 2003 Stained Glass Theatre moved to Ozark and so did we. In October, 2008, my wife passed away. A year later I met Dena Shepherd when she auditioned for a show I was directing. Our friendship evolved into romance. We were married on May 5, 2010, and a year later moved to Dena's home near Nixa where we live today. I retired as Executive Director of SGT in August of 2011 but continue to write and direct shows. My title is now Founder and Executive Director Emeritus. |
