Introduction | Our small farm is home to Shetland sheep and Colored Angora goats. We also raise a few pet and dairy goats along with hair sheep; feeder pigs, laying hens, peafowl, Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs and barn cats round out the menagerie. I am the shepherd of the family as well as the fiberholic. My main passion is the animals themselves, I love being "hands on" with fiber on the hoof. Fascinated with our home grown wool, I am constantly searching for creative new ways to use it. When Jim is not working his other job, he is in charge of the fields, fences, construction and farm maintenance. Occasionally he takes a day or two to go fishing or hunting. Though we are a small farm, we have big plans. We have added a small farm based business selling our raw natural colored Shetland and Mohair fleeces. We hope to add roving and hand spun farm yarn soon. Seasonal sales of handcrafted goat milk soap and other farm products are also available. |
Interests | Raising dairy and fiber goats, Shetland sheep, fiber arts, reading, writing, cooking, farmstead cheeses, goat milk soap, sustainable living techniques, natural and holistic animal care, organic gardening. |
