| Introduction | I was introduced to HvZ and Nerf modifications during my time as an undergrad student, and my attempts to build a game-breaking super-blaster have gradually developed into an appreciation for Nerf modification as a hobby. I prefer ambitious experimental mods, and have a taste for research and development. The name "Herbert West" seemed appropriate when I joined the HvZ forums - I'm still waiting for someone to get that reference - and I use if for all of my hobby-related online presence now. My meatspace persona justifies my existence by researching electrodynamic tethers (long wires on satellites with interact with the Earth's magnetic field - a shockingly underdeveloped technology given the potential utility), and is currently developing a model of an EDT which involves the ionosphere as an active element. |
