| Introduction | Miss Havisham, ‘the witch of the place’ is a spinster, living in a townhouse in South London with her Ladies Companion Estelle. Although a spinster may be thought of as elderly, she is far removed from being 50. Legend has it that guests may be offered rotten fruit cake but that is far from true. While she may have a wedding dress or two in the eaves she only occasionally moons around the place and stops short of going completely doolally. She let in the light, opened the windows and doors and allowed the fresh air through to allow the natural healing influences of nature soothe her sore and saddened heart. Should guests arrive they will be encouraged to eat the freshly made canapes for, after all, there’s no sense wasting good food. |
