| Introduction | I am a New Yorker and I love this City like a person. I love the tastes, I love the smells (most of them anyway), I love the energy, I love the art and I love, love, love the diversity. Every country is represented here. Every language can be heard and every food can be savored.I love having friends from around the world who come into town and sit at my table to eat and teach me more about their foods. And of course, my son who competes with my cooking and is a great supporter and my nieces and nephews who are just starting to cook on their own. I'm not a trained chef and I don't pretend to be, but I can cook and I love it. I am a pescatarian. That is, the only meat I eat is seafood. Please, no philosophical discussions about my choices. I do, on rare occassions cook meat for other people, especially my mom and the people on whom I test the recipes that I will prepare for my mom. |
