IntroductionI am a lifelong journalist, including nearly two decades at The Associated Press (where I was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize as part of national reporting teams on the eruption of Mount St. Helens, and later guardianship abuses of the elderly.) After AP, I worked 20 years with The Salt Lake Tribune in a variety of reporting (crime, courts, history, business, medical, technology and religion) and managerial roles. As a freelancer (MimsMedia, a Utah business entity), I have ghosted or written/edited more than 100 magazine articles and more than a dozen books. Specialties: Editing, writing, and research over a wide range of topics from faith, travel, history and the legal system to medical, scientific and technology.

Favorite moviesLittle Big Man, Woman Walks Ahead, Lord of the Rings and Hobbit, 2001; A Space Odyssey, Casablanca, The Elephant Man (1980 version with Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt), and The Passion of the Christ.
Favorite musicBlues (Clapton, Shepherd, Joplin, ZZ Top, CCR); Classical (Mozart, Bach, Chopin and in small doses, Wagner); some blue grass, and almost anything of Eastern Orthodox chants.
Favorite booksAnything Tolkien; the Robert B. Parker, James Lee Burke, and some Lawrence Block detective/mystery series; anything LeCarre, Azimov, Clarke wrote; and an increasing list of Orthodox Christian classics, from The Way of the Pilgrim and Father Arseny to the current works of Fr. Stephen Damick.
