Introduction Simply "Decent grub" doesn't satisfy and pubs with the sign "Good Food Served here" scribbled in chalk render me suspicious. Chain restaurants bore me too; I'm a fussy eater in search of the perfect meal. I was born in Sweden but, due to extensive travels, I was fed on a varied diet of European cuisine other than just meat balls, elk and pickled herring. I took a political stance by becoming a vegeterian for 4 years until my toe nails came off (don't ask). The carnivore in me then developed an apetite for high cuisine and cooking in general, possibly to make up for the frugal years of lentils and quorn. I moved to the UK in 2000 and worked as a waitress in an Indian buffet restaurant for 6 months. This is where I was trained in good service by the manager, a former owner of a fine dining venue. A few years later I did a brief stint as a restaurant critic working for a student mag (unpaid, but the meals were free, so not bad). Cooking and dining is now one of my favourite past times and, for someone with a wandering mind, it's one of the best ways of enjoying the present.
