Occupation Community Ranger Watford Borough Council

Introduction I am a former Fleet Street photojournalist who covered news sport and features for Today newspaper, Daily Mirror, and The Times. After twelve years I decided on a complete career change and went to university where I obtained an honours degree in Countryside Management. My love of photography caught up with me again and for some years set up my own business, Picture This! teaching photography as well as giving talks about my life as a former photojournalist to various clubs and organisations all over the UK. I have always enjoyed travel and decided to take a year's break, or adult gap year, to cycle around the world and theme my trip on art and artists of the world. I set off from London on 1st May 2011 and was away for about 4 months. I cut the journey short at the Turkish border and returned to UK due to family issues, but hope to resume my world cycle trip in the future when the time is right. At present I am enjoying my wonderful and varied job as a Community Ranger for Watford Borough Council in Hertfordshire, which allows me to still indulge in taking pictures. I continue to get published book commissions for my photography. Deborah Brady
