| Introduction | I was brought up on the hills above the Barossa Valley wine region in South Australia. My family had ‘explorer’ in the blood and I had travelled over ½ million miles, all over Australia, by the time I was 12. I first became a tour guide in the Flinders Ranges and from 1983 to 1988 I worked in Alice Springs, Margaret River, Uluru, Goldfields regions, Victoria River, Kimberleys, Kalbarri, Gibson Desert and Broome. At every stop I invested my time learning the country and its amazing plants and wildlife. I had much success and fun guiding small groups by 4WD, coach and even canoe. In 1988 I arrived in Darwin and stayed for 12 years tour guiding extensively through the ancient untouched land in Kakadu, Arhnhemland, Litchfield Park and Katherine River. It’s here that I raised orphan wallabies and kangaroos. In 2001 I moved to Queensland and tour guided and travelled for my own pleasure the length and breadth of this beautiful sunshine state. I currently live in Longford, Tasmainia, Oz and design Australian travel arrangements for my customers in UK, USA and Germany. |
