| Introduction | I was introduced to the world of birding in the 5th grade when I took a trip to Cape May, NJ on the week following an event known as the World Series of Birding. I have been hooked ever since with trips across the United States and recently a short trip to Peru. I am most accustomed to birding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where I grew up. There are two places on this earth that I absolutely love to bird: 1. The coast - I have yet to find a region that offers more excitement and diversity 2. On the shoulder of a random country road - I believe that there are so many amazing areas that have yet to be protected by the state or federal government. You to get out and search for interesting habitats that appeal to specific species of not only birds but wildlife in general. Identifying these unique habitats is the first step towards conserving them! Other than that I just love the atmosphere birding provides and the memories I get to experience with fellow birders. |
