Introduction	To pay for these fun little money pits, I'm a professor of composition and literature at Riverside City College. Neither of these Jeeps is my daily driver (I've got a 1999 diesel VW Bug for that). But I've always wanted to work on cars, and I thought that these are the types of rigs to practice on (very little if any computerization, lots of bolt on parts). Living where I do just south and west of the Mojave Desert and the San Bernardino Mountains, off-roading is the primo activity of choice on the weekends, and the options are pretty good (Johnson Valley, the Hammers, El Mirage, Joshua Tree, Big Bear, San Gabriel/Azusa Canyon, and the like). I don't imagine my rigs will ever be finished, which is part of the fun. I'm also pretty sure I'll never have enough of them.
