| Introduction | Hi, I'm H, or Hope I'm a mother of a two-year-old & have a wonderful partner I married 5 years ago in a book themed wedding. I am a rape survivor and have PTSD, which takes a lot of time and energy to manage, so that is my job right now. I am a writer, reader, artist, crafter, cook. I just love to do, and be involved in creative things. I used to work as a social worker, but got burnt out. I am a feminist progressive who promotes social jusitice. I'M WRITING THIS BLOG SO I CAN PRACTICE USING MY VOICE. VICTIMS OF ASSAULTS ARE SILENCED BY THEIR PERPETRATORS. THIS SOCIETY, AND EVEN PEOPLE I LOVE HAVE SAID I SHOULDN'T TALK ABOUT THESE THINGS, BUT IT IS HEALING FOR SURVIVORS TO SPEAK UP! I DON'T USUSALLY SAY THIS, BUT PEOPLE, INCLUDING FAMILY, CAN JUST SHUT UP IF THEY TRY TO CONTROL MY VOICE IN THIS BLOG (and so can anyone who tries to do this to you)! THAT WOULD HARM ME. I WANT TO END THE STIGMAS OF TALKING ABOUT RAPE, ABUSE AND MENTAL ILLNESS! |
| Favorite music | All kinds except for not too much rap and hardly any country at all. I like lots of genres, with or without lyrics, lots of time periods, and international music. Right now I'm into English (Language), Spanish, and French Jazz, Bossa Nova, early jazz, and am into old Satchmo (Louis Armstrong). I played the flute in school. |
