| Introduction | I am the sum of two different pairs of cubes*. For historical reasons surrounding my 20th century rediscovery I am known as the taxicab number, although ironically I do not much like riding in them.
* Explanation: 10 cubed + 9 cubed = 1,000 + 729 = 1,729; 12 cubed + 1 cubed = 1,728 + 1 = 1,729 |
