| Introduction | I was a young adult when I discovered my stepfather was a paedophile who had abused my siblings. I am writing this blog because when my mother was told the truth about him and he was arrested, we all went through hell. I tried to find online support groups for people like me: survivors of highly dysfunctional families who had siblings who had been sexually abused but who had not been abused themselves. I found nothing. And so, I decided then that, when I felt ready, I would share my thoughts and feelings in the hope that one day they might be read by someone else in that situation and offer them at least a glimmer of hope that they were not alone. I am writing this anonymously to protect the identities of my siblings. That will be first and foremost so there will be no descriptive stories of events. This is a blog of my thoughts, feelings and ideas - my healing process around this trauma. All names have been changed.
