About me

Introduction Jo Myers was born and raised in Salmon, Idaho rafting the Salmon River with her folks who owned and operated a rafting company. She spent much of her life behind the oars guiding and exploring the Frank Church Wilderness. She received a Bachelor's Degree in environmental science from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado (2006). Jo spent two years working on the Sawtooth Basin Sockeye Salmon Recovery Project in Central Idaho conducting limnological research. She then worked for Salmon Valley Stewardship and Lemhi Regional Land Trust leading a stream restoration project and developing community involvement. Currently, Jo is pursuing a Master's degree in Environment and Community from Antioch University in Seattle and is interested in facilitating meaningful citizen engagement around environmental issues. She is working for Kitsap County on the Shoreline Master Program Update and also for West Sound Watersheds Council addressing salmon recovery issues in the area.
